Taking into account the upcoming 'Fate/stay night: UBW' anime series that's about to air, along with the 'Fate/stay night: HF' movie that's coming to cinemas. I have decided to do a review on one of my favorite Figures.

Do you intend to pass through?

Saber Alter. After being defeated by a mysterious shadow, she is corrupted and resurrected as this darker version of herself. One who has 'opened' her eyes to a hopeless truth, she thus entrusts her sword to the darkness within the Grail.

Saber Alter's sharper and darker armor screams bad-ass, and with this figma version of her by Max Factory, Saber Alter can now ensure that your heart realizes (the futility of doing good) her generosity in improving your life.

Command Seal!

Back of the Box

The figma comes with 2 faces, 2 hairstyles (1 with, and 1 without visor), her corrupted blade, and a handset. Of course, it came with the standard figma stand, and figma bag, and once again, I did not bother  taking a picture of those 2. (note: not 2 extra faces nor 2 extra hairstyles, but 2 of each in total)

The True Self's equipment (~yes it's a reference )

Here's a close-up of the sword with Saber Alter:

Behold the Excaliber Morgan!

Looking at Saber Alter's front, her oppressing Aura is easily radiated by the way the figma's body is made. With the several pointed ends, and the many possible ways she can be positioned, this figma can easily be made to look like an intimidating figure up close.

Hmm?

Looking at this figma from the back, she almost looks like a real person! Heck, zoomed out, I almost mistook this as one of those cosplay photos that I accidentally copied from my camera. The proportions are really well-done, though the Saber Alter's advantage may be due to her armor.

I am not Archer, I have no words to say.

One of the many things I love about this figma, with this one being one of my favorites so far, is that it is very maneuverable, and flexible.

Her upper body can rotate!

Her poses just look cool and natural despite only moving a few parts

The figma's cloth at the sleeve area is also made of a bendable material, adding to the figure's general visual effect, and flexibility.

Before I was weak, now...

I am stronger!

Adding to her flexibility would be the ease in interchanging her parts!

It's not ball-ended!

Moving onto her looks... Yes Saber Alter does indeed look good...

Moving onto this figma's looks, it again, as stated earlier, extraordinarily projects that cool "Black Knight" aura. It has the original Saber's regal and formal pattern, yet it also has this kind of viciousness in its looks.

The sharp edges in Saber Alter's armor really accentuates that malicious look. While posing this figma, I literally had to watch out for those pointed edges, since they are really pretty sharp!

Her armor reflects damage literally!

The red marks are also pretty spot on. I like how they did not skimp on that since it adds texture to Saber Alter's armor.

The Grail's curse is very thorough

No Ahoge!!!

To conclude, I really have to give my praise for this figma. Being someone who likes the Type Moon series, I can really appreciate the work done on this figure.

Here is my rating:

Accuracy: 10/10
Flexibility: 10/10 (Saber Alter can literally do many poses!)
Ease of use: 10/10 (The ball-ended joints at the hands made it difficult)
Color: 10/10 (I like those little details)
General awe effect: 10/10 (She radiates darkness.)

Total(Average): 10/10

If you like Saber, or the series in general, then it is really worth the money and effort to procure this figure!
